Different kinds of cheese sandwiches, for one thing. Vary the bread. Use English muffins, pita bread, hamburger buns, whole wheat bread. Add sive protein foods, like tuna and sardines, by combincrunchy vegetables or fruit. Or stretch other inexpen- (R) ing them Here with are a cheese few in a sandwich.

LESTE suggestions: CHEESE SMORREBROD Spread thin slice of firm white or whole wheat bread with margarine. Top with a layer of Spicy Sprouts or alfalfa sprouts. Fan out three thin slices of process cheese. Top with a crescent of radish slices. SUPER CHEESEWICH Spread English muffin half with margarine.

Top with tomato slice, then a slice of process American cheese. Broil till cheese melts. APPLE CHEESEWICH Top buttered bread with apple slices and a slice of process American cheese. If desired, add cooked bacon slice and top with second slice of bread. If desired, butter outside of sandwich and heat in skillet on both sides, till cheese melts.

POCKET SANDWICHES Cut pita bread in half. Stuff with a mixture of shredded lettuce, diced process American cheese, sliced green onion, sliced radishes, and tomato slices. If desired, drizzle with mayonnaise thinned with milk, or with bottled dressing. Or use whatever ingredients you have on hand. ZUCCHINI CHEESE SANDWICHES Fill whole-wheat sandwich with two slices process American cheese, separated by a layer of sliced zucchini.

SUPER SARDINE SANDWICHES 6 frankfurter buns, buttered 2 tablespoons prepared mustard Lettuce or spinach 2 cans to 4 ounces each) sardines 1 medium onion, cut in half and sliced thin 6 slices process American cheese, cut in half Catsup or chili sauce Spread buttered buns with mustard. Line with lettuce. Drain sardines, split lengthwise and place in buns. Top with onion and cheese. Drizzle with sauce.
