Tips and Tricks:
- Frozen Strawberries. Add a couple of frozen strawberries to each drink to serve as ice cubes. They will keep the drink cold without diluting the limeade.
- Storage: Place the strawberry syrup into an airtight container or jar and place in the fridge. It can be stored up to 2 weeks and used to make more great drinks.
- Lemon Lime Soda. We used Sprite but you can use store brand or anything you like.
- Fresh Lime Juice. This drink is best using freshly squeezed lime juice and not the bottled stuff. The flavor is so much better using fresh limes.
- Adjust the sweetness of the drink. If you prefer the drink sweeter, simply add more of the simple syrup. It is easy to modify to your preference.
- Other types of berries. This limeade can easily be modified for any type of berries you have on hand.
How to choose fresh strawberries:
- Brightly colored red berries are best. Avoid any that look yellow or brown.
- Use fresh berries. Strawberries don’t keep for long so it’s best to purchase the berries when ready to make this drink.
- Once home, store the strawberries without being washed. Any excess moisture can cause the berries to spoil quicker.
More ways to use Strawberry Syrup:
- Strawberry Milk. Add the strawberry syrup to milk according to taste for the best Strawberry Milk.
- Iced Tea. Blend into iced tea for a refreshing Summer Iced Tea. We recommend unsweetened iced tea since the syrup has sugar in it.
- Milkshakes. Combine with vanilla ice cream for a luscious Strawberry Milkshake. You can add as much as you prefer.
