Wow. Just wow. These Mushroom + Beef Burgers are where it is AT! Even if you don’t consider yourself a mushroom lover, these juicy, flavorful patties just may change your mind.
You see, beef and mushrooms are a flavor match made in heaven. The finely chopped mushrooms are then sautéed to deepen the umami flavor of the ground beef — while also adding moisture to create a truly melt-in-your-mouth burger experience. Combined with the *perfect* blend of spices like garlic powder, Italian seasoning, onion powder, ground black pepper, and paprika, these burgers are insanely flavorful all on their own — but will be even more amazing on a lightly toasted bun and loaded with your favorite burger toppings. My family and friends rave about these — and so will yours!
Let me walk you through how to make these burgers

Ingredients
- 8 ounces cremini mushrooms, or baby bella mushrooms
- ½ Tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon sea salt, divided
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- 1 large egg
- ¼ cup breadcrumbs
- oil for cooking
- 4 brioche buns, or your favorite hamburger buns
- cheese, lettuce, pickles, tomato, sliced avocado, sliced red onion, or whatever burger toppings you love.
Instructions
Wipe the mushrooms clean and very finely chop them. I like to do this using the "S" blade in my food processor to make the process quick, but you can also do this with a cutting board, chef's knife and bit of patience.
Place a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the oil. Once the oil is hot, add the mushrooms to the skillet and season with ½ teaspoon salt. Cook until the mushrooms are soft and most of the moisture has cooked off. About 3-5 minutes. Pull off the heat and let them cool slightly.
Once the mushrooms have had a chance to cool a bit, toss them in a large bowl along with the beef, remaining salt, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, paprika, pepper, paprika, onion powder, eggs, and breadcrumbs.
Using clean hands or a spoon, mix until well combined and the ingredients are even distributed throughout the meat.
Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions and form into patties that are 1-inch thick.
If you want to grill these burgers, use your thumbs to create a small indentation in the top of the burger to prevent them from puffing up too much while cooking.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add avocado oil. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the burgers in the pan and cook for about 5 minutes on each side and until your preferred doneness.
If grilling, cook burgers on a medium-high grill for about 5 minutes per side.
Serve on buns and top with your favorite burger toppings.

Yay! So happy these were a hit with the whole family (seriously, always such a win!) and you found them simple to make. These are going to be my go-to burger this summer, so I’m delighted you loved them just as much as we do!
