This came together easily and turned out good! The only thing I would change next time is a different type of soup, I didn’t care for the beans and peas in the minestrone.Reply
Dennis says
I thought that once I tried this that would be it .Well its one of those recipe that you can’t stop making .I also put in one pound of sausage. Thank you for a great recipe.Reply

Looks delicious…I have all the ingredients and am ready to do this. However, since it’s just the Hubby & I, will my 4 quart hold it all, or does it need to go in a 6 quart? I just checked out your FB page and saved many recipes to try, I can’t wait. Thanks for the wonderful content 🙂

Loved it!! The soup was a great hit. It’s definitely a keeper. The first time I made it, I stuck to the recipe, except I use a 18.8oz can of Campbell’s chunky minestrone soup with Italian sausage. This week, I made it again and used a package of mild Italian sausage links ( I removed the casings). I also added Italian seasoning. The soup had great flavor!Reply

I’m so glad you enjoyed this soup. We love it too! Your additions sound yummy!
Sandy Jeffers says
I tried it tonight and was not impressed. It didn’t have much flavor. It was like a mild chili with little flavor. It was okay but i think some onions and some more spices need to be added.

I’m sorry to hear that. This is one of our favorite soups, but we understand that every recipe isn’t going to be everyone’s cup of tea. I hope you find a recipe you love in our almost 2,000 recipes.

Where do I buy minestrone soup……what is the brand?
Aunt Lou says
It will be with the canned soups. The brands will vary with each grocery store, but some popular brands are Campbell’s and Progresso. Hope you enjoy this delicious soup as much as we do!
Dennis says

I have a packet of Sloppy Joe seasoning. Could that be added to the mixture…or, at least, part of the packet?

Aunt Lou says
I’ve never tried it with a packet, Patty. If you give it a try, let me know how it turns out!

I just tried this recipe today. It was really good. If it looks a little thick, just add a little water to it. Very easy and it was really good.😛 that’s my kind of recipe.

I am in the process of making this soup as I am typing this but, I am worried that there isn’t enough liquid? Right now it looks like a VERY thick chili…..will this thin out during the cooking process?

Aunt Lou says
Hi Jody!I’m sorry it was thicker for you. I hope it tasted delicious anyway!

I make this all the time in the Insta pot. This is my go to soup! It’s amazing. I do add beef broth and I do not add the minestrone soup. I made a double batch as well, which is just as good Sometimes I’ll add a little rice.
